영상제목 : The power of diversity within yourself.

Now, today my identity quest is no longer to find my tribe. 

→ 지금 오늘날, 나의 정체성에 대한 질문은 더이상 나의 집단을 찾지 않는 것이다. 

▣No longer : 더이상 ~아닌, ~하지 않는

▣Tribe : ①부족, 종종 ②집단 ③족, 류

It's more about allowing myself to embrace all of the possible permutations of myself 

→ 이것은 내 자신을 to 이하하는 것을 허락하는 것에 대한 것이다.

(to 이하 문맥) 내 자신 안에 있는 가능한 모든 순열을 모두 받아드리는 것

▣embrace : ①껴안다, 포옹하다 ②받아들이다 ③포괄하다, 아우르다

▣permutations : 순열 , 치환

and cultivating diversity within me and not just around me. 

→ 그리고 내 안에 있는 다양성을 구축하는 것, 단순히 내 주변에 있는 것이 아닌....

▣cultivate : ①경작하다, 일구다 ②재배하다 ③(관계를) 구축하다

My boys now are three years and five months old today, 

→ 지금 내 아이들은 세 살 그리고 오개월 되었다.

and they were already born with three nationalities and four languages. 

→ 그리고 그들은 이미 4가지 언어와 3개의 국적을 가지고 태어났다.

▣be born with : ~을 가지고 태어나다

▣nationality : ①국적 ②민족

I should mention now that my husband is actually from Denmark – 

→ 나는 내 남편이 사실상 덴마크인이라는 것을 말해야만 한다. 

just in case I don't have enough culture shocks in my life, 

→ 내 삶에서 충분한 문화 쇼크를 받지 않았다는 경우에 한해서

▣just in case : ~한 경우에 한해서 (=only if)

I decided to marry a Danish guy. 

→ 나는 덴마크인과 결혼하기로 결정했다.

▣decide to : ~을 결정하다

▣Danish : ①덴마크인의 ②덴마크어

In fact, I think my kids will be the first Vikings 

→ 사실 나는 내 아이들이 첫번째 바이킹인이 될 것이라 생각했다.

▣Vikings : 바이킹

who will have a hard time growing a beard when they become older. 

→ (바이킹인을 수식) 그들이 나이가 들어갈 때쯤, 수염을 기르는 힘든 시간을 가질 바이킹인

▣beard : (턱)수염

Yeah, we'll have to work on that. 

→ 응, 우리는 그점에 대해 해결해야만 해

▣on that : 그점에 관하여

But I really hope that they will find that their multiplicity is going to open 

→ 그러나 나는 정말로 그들이 다양성이 계속 열려있다는 것을 알아차리길 희망하고 있다.

▣multiplicity : 다수, 다양성

and create a lot of doors for them in their lives, 

→ 그리고 그들 삶에서 그들을 위한 수많은 문을 만들어질 것이라고.

and that they can use this as a way to find commonality in a world that's increasingly global today.

→ 그리고 점점 세계화가 되고 있는 오늘 공통점을 찾는 방법으로써 사용할 수 있을 것이라고. 

▣commonality : 공통성, 보통, 평범

▣increasingly : 점점 더, 갈수록 더

I hope that instead of feeling anxious and worried 

→ 나는 희망한다. 불안해하고 근심하는 것 보다는

▣anxious : 불안해하는, 불안하게 하는, 열망하는 

that they don't fit in that one box or that their identity will become irrelevant someday, 

→ 그들이 그 박스 안에 맞추지 않기를

또는 그들의 정체성이 어느날 상관없는 것이 되기를.

▣irrelevant : 무관한, 상관없는

that they can feel free to experiment and to take control of their personal narrative and identity. 

→ 그들이 실험을 자유롭게 할 수 있도록 

그리고 그들 개인의 묘사와 정체성을 지배할 수 있도록.

▣experiment : ①실험 ②실험을하다

▣take control of : ~을 장악하다, ~을 지배하다

▣narrative : ①묘사 ②서술

I also hope that they will use their unique combination of values and languages and cultures and skills

→ 나는 또한 희망한다 (that절을) 그들이 가진 독특한 기술, 문화, 언어 혼합된 가치들을 사용하길. 

▣combination : 조합물

to help create a world where identities are no longer used to alienate 

→ 정체성이라는 것이 더 이상 소외되지 않는 세계를 창조하는 것을 돕기 위하여

▣alienate : ①소원하게 만들다 ②소외감을 느끼게 하다.

what looks different, but rather, to bring together people.

→ 무엇이 다르게 생겼는지, 오히려 사람들을 한데 모으기 위해

▣but rather : 오히려

And most importantly, I really hope that they find tremendous joy in going through these uncharted territories, 

→ 그리고 가장 중요한것은 나는 정말로 희망한다. 

(that절을) 그들이 이러한 그들의 잘 알지 못하는 영토를 통하여 엄청난 즐거움을 찾기를.

▣tremendous : ①엄청난 ②굉장한, 대단한

▣uncharted : 미지의, 잘 알지 못하는 

▣territory ; 지역, 영토

because I know I have. 

→ 왜냐하면 내가 그랬으니깐.

Now, as for my grandmother, her last wish was also her last lesson to me. 

→ 지금 내 할머니에 대해 말하자면, 

그녀의 마지막 소원이 또한 그녀가 나에게 주는 마지막 교훈이 되었다.

▣ as for : ~에 대해 말하자면

It turns out that it was never about going back to Korea and being buried there. 

→ 그것은 거기에 묻히기 위해 당장 한국으로 돌아가는 것이 아니라는 것으로 들어났다. 

▣turn out : ①모습을 드러내다 ②(일이) 되어 가다

▣be about ~ing : 당장 곧 ~할것이다, ~하는 것이다. 

It was about resting next to her son, who had died long before she moved to Argentina. 

→ 그것은 그녀가 아르헨티나로 가기 전, 오래전에 죽었던 그녀의 아들이 휴식하고 있는 옆이다.. 

What mattered to her was not the ocean that divided her past and new world; 

→ 그녀에게 문제가 되는 것은 새로운 세계와 그녀의 과거를 나누는 바다가 아니다.

it was about finding common ground. 

→ 그것은 공통점을 찾는것에 대한 것이다.

▣common ground : 공통점
